Spring Concert/ Dress Rehearsal- May 25

Our spring concert this year will be on May 25th at 6:30pm in the FA5 theater. Students should arrive to the theater dressed in chorus uniforms and ready to sing by 6:00pm that evening. We will be carpooling over to the high school that afternoon at 12:30 and having our dress rehearsal until 2:30.  Once we are finished practicing we will go back to FA3 for dismissal.  I will be sending home permission forms for the field trip sometime this week.

The results are in!

The FA middle school chorus received 1st place in their division at Music in the Parks at Busch Gardens this past weekend!  They also placed 4th out of all 18 choral ensembles.  There was representation from 11 states and about 1000 students.  Students sang for two judges, they were graded based on their overall performance. The judges were very impressed with their performance and had very positive comments.  Students were on their best behavior all weekend and we all had an amazing time!!!

St. Patty's Day- Irish Potatoes

Makes about 60

Ingredients:
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 cups confectioners' sugar
2 1/2 cups flaked coconut
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Directions:
In a medium bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add the vanilla and confectioners' sugar; beat until smooth. Using your hands if necessary, mix in the coconut. Roll into balls or potato shapes, and roll in the cinnamon. Place onto a cookie sheet and chill to set. There are a total of 167 students and chaperones attending the Lion King with 3 busses.  The busses will pick up the middle school kids first then travel to FA V to pick up the high school kids.  Same thing after the show -- the busses will drop off at the middle school, then travel to drop off students at the high school.   If you have siblings in the middle school and high school I want to make this easy for you.  Please send me an email to let me know which stop you would like your children dropped off, that way you do not have to run from each campus to pick up your kids.  If I do not receive an email I will not allow any students to get off the bus.  Thank you.
